Q5 vs XC40: A Roaring Performance

As luxury vehicles, the 2019 Q5 and XC40 have powerful engines under their hoods. In fact, both SUVs use 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder powerplants exclusively. The Audi SUV delivers 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. It's an impressive total that can boost you from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 6 seconds.

The XC40's range-topping turbo 4-cylinder nearly matches those numbers, with 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. However, you'll only get this engine on the top trim. The base turbo 4-cylinder is a bit less robust, with just 187 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque on tap.

The Q5 also comes standard with quattro® all-wheel drive (AWD) for enhanced road grip. While the XC40 offers AWD, it doesn't come standard as in the Audi.
