Special Olympics Vermont is a part of a global movement that focuses on empowering athletes with intellectual disabilities to be leaders in society by providing opportunities that emphasis on health, wellness, sports, and team-building. Special Olympics Vermont offers 13 Olympic-type sports and holds 9 state level competitions annually. Sports offered includes: soccer, bowling, golf, alpine skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, basketball, swimming, track and field, bocce, softball, and sailing.
