Soon enough, those of you in the Champlain Valley with a need for speed will be able to get your hands on the all-new Audi TT-RS. But, before that happens, Audi is planning on sending the 2012 models out with a flourish. Not that the name particularly matters, but rumor has it that the Audi TT-RS Plus will get a boost in power along with some stylish refinements.
So here's the deal: Audi engineers are busy planning the next-gen model of the TT-RS for the 2013 model year, but they're also busy making sure that the current model TT-RS gets the attention it rightly deserves before it's younger sibling cuts in. According to the rumors, the Audi will drop 132 pounds when it loses its rear seats and gains more carbon-fiber material in its body. Combine that with the five-cylinder 2.5L Turbo engine, pumping out an impressive 380-hp, you might barely catch the specially designed wheels and fixed rear wing as it zips by you.
Yes, these changes are very similar to the ones made to the Audi TT Quattro Sport in 2005. We're guessing this pattern is likely to continue, so it wouldn't surprise us if the TT-RS Plus also gets a two-tone color scheme and an updated interior.
We're not sure when the TT-RS Plus is set to hit the market, but be sure to stay tuned with the Audi South Burlington blog for continued updates on this and other Audi news. In the meantime, be sure to take a look at all of the new Audi models in our showroom, and feel free to contact us with any questions or to schedule a test drive.
